General Hospital: Anna’s Hidden Mountain Property May Put Britt in Terrifying Danger

General Hospital could be setting the stage for Anna Devane to enter one of the most disturbing chapters of her entire life. Even though Anna has returned to Port Charles following treatment in France, more and more clues suggest that she is nowhere near fully recovered — and Britt Westbourne may soon find herself at the center of a terrifying scheme driven by Anna’s continuing hallucinations of Peter August.

Anna has managed to convince almost everyone around her that her condition has improved. She told the medical professionals what they wanted to hear, was eventually discharged and returned to Port Charles looking calmer and more composed than she had before.

But the audience knows what is really happening.

Anna is still seeing Peter.

Even more concerning, she appears to be following his advice.

Peter Continues to Influence Anna’s Choices

Anna may intellectually understand that Cesar Faison is dead and is no longer capable of physically harming her, but the emotional scars connected to him remain deeply embedded in her psyche.

Peter has essentially become the embodiment of that unresolved trauma.

His hallucinated presence repeatedly pushes Anna toward the belief that she can never truly be safe while Faison’s children remain alive. Because Britt is Faison’s daughter, she has consequently become one of the people Anna now views as a threat.

The danger became even more obvious when Britt went to Anna looking for help uncovering the truth about what had happened to Cesar’s body.

At first, Anna wanted nothing to do with it.

Then Peter appeared again and urged her to change her mind.

Anna asked Sonny whether he would sell her a portion of his large and extremely secluded mountain property.

She claimed she wanted to create a private refuge where she could get away from everything and spend time completely alone.

On the surface, that explanation might have sounded reasonable.

Anna wanted absolutely no one to know about the property.

When Sonny suggested letting Diane take care of the legal paperwork, Anna quickly objected. She clearly wanted the transaction to remain as private and difficult to trace as possible.

Could Anna Be Creating a Secret Prison for Britt?

When Peter’s increasingly disturbing demands are combined with Anna’s sudden desire to own a hidden piece of remote property, one frightening possibility becomes difficult to ignore.

Anna may not be building a retreat at all.

Instead, she may be creating a place where Britt can be taken and held without anyone seeing what happens.

If Anna’s only intention were to murder Britt, she would hardly need to purchase land in the mountains. Anna has access to weapons, years of intelligence experience and the training necessary to eliminate someone while minimizing evidence.

So why would she suddenly require such an isolated location?

The most disturbing explanation is that Anna may be planning something far more complicated than a quick attack.

Peter has repeatedly encouraged her to punish Britt simply because she is Faison’s daughter. If Anna’s psychological condition continues to decline, she may eventually convince herself that Britt deserves to suffer before being killed.

That could easily result in Britt being abducted and imprisoned somewhere far outside Port Charles.

The situation would carry an especially dark sense of irony because of the history shared by these characters.

Years earlier, Liesl Obrecht kidnapped Peter and subjected him to brutal treatment while holding him prisoner inside a remote cabin. Anna herself has also survived horrifying captivity, interrogation and psychological abuse during different periods of her life.

Yet now Anna could potentially become the person inflicting that same kind of torment on someone else.

Britt Could Vanish Before Anyone Realizes Something Is Wrong

Anna may also have another factor working in her favor.

Britt has disappeared unexpectedly before, and she does not exactly have a reputation for consistently telling everyone where she is going.

If Britt suddenly stopped answering calls or vanished from Port Charles, some people might initially assume that she had simply taken off again without warning.

That misunderstanding could give Anna valuable time.

Elizabeth or Stella might not immediately suspect that Britt had been kidnapped.

Jason Morgan, however, would likely react very differently.

Jason knows Britt exceptionally well, and if her behavior or disappearance did not fit her normal pattern, he would probably become suspicious fairly quickly.

One of the biggest clues could come from learning that Anna was among the final people known to have spoken with Britt before she disappeared.

Jason could head toward the mountain property and discover exactly what Anna has been constructing or hiding there.

And if Britt is indeed being held prisoner, Jason could ultimately be the person who finds and rescues her.

There is also a chance that Britt could manage to escape without anyone’s help.

Either way, it seems doubtful that this storyline will actually end with Britt being killed.

Instead, her disappearance may become the dramatic event that finally proves to everyone just how seriously Anna’s mental condition has deteriorated.

Britt’s Survival Could Finally Expose Anna’s Condition

If Britt escapes or is rescued and tells everyone exactly what Anna did to her, Anna will no longer be able to maintain the illusion that she has recovered.

The people closest to her would finally have to accept that Anna convinced her doctors she was improving even though she was still deeply unwell and returned to Port Charles before she was ready.

More significantly, Anna may finally be forced to admit that Peter has continued appearing to her as a hallucination.

Until this point, Peter has existed only in Anna’s mind.

But if those hallucinations begin driving her to kidnap, imprison or possibly torture Britt, then their consequences will no longer be limited to Anna’s private suffering.

Someone else will have been physically harmed because Anna acted on what she believed Peter was telling her.

That realization could lead to Anna being hospitalized again and receiving far more intensive treatment for the trauma she has repeatedly tried to suppress.

Anna Now Has the Motive, the Ability and the Opportunity

At this stage, nearly every element necessary for something disastrous appears to be falling into place.

Anna has a motive because Peter’s hallucinated voice continues insisting that Britt represents a threat and must eventually die.

She has the ability because her extensive training and experience make her more than capable of carrying out a kidnapping without immediately being caught.

And now she may also have the perfect opportunity because Sonny has agreed to give her access to a remote mountain property whose existence will be known to almost no one.

Together, those circumstances make Anna increasingly dangerous.

The most tragic part is that Peter is not actually responsible for any of this.

Peter is dead.

The voice Anna continues hearing is being created by her own damaged mind, shaped by decades of trauma, guilt, fear and grief that she has never truly resolved.

Anna witnessed Peter’s death and chose not to intervene immediately. She also continues carrying tremendous guilt surrounding his entire life, their complicated biological relationship and the lingering thought that perhaps everything might have turned out differently under other circumstances.

Now that guilt appears to be changing into something far more dangerous.

And Britt may ultimately suffer because of it.

If Anna truly does lure Britt to the isolated mountain property, General Hospital could be preparing one of its darkest and most psychologically unsettling storylines in recent months.

At this point, the biggest question is no longer whether Anna has genuinely recovered.

The real question is whether Jason, Sonny or someone else will recognize what is happening before Britt vanishes — and before Anna crosses a line she may never be able to undo.
